I'm not trying at all. The facts speak for themselves. Instead of employing logical fallacies like you did above (no true scotsman)., next time try commenting on the evidence.
6 and he said, it is too small a thing that thou shouldest be servant to me to raise up the sons of jacob, and to bring back the netzurei yisroel (preserved of israel,); i will also give thee for ohr goyim, that thou mayest be my yeshuah unto the ketzeh ha’aretz.. 2nd isaiah, actually an anonymous prophet at the time of cyrus, did his best to inspire and hearten his fellow countrymen.
many judahites had lost hope and even lost faith.
the explanations offered by previous prophets, namely that their own sins had resulted in their situation, were not adequate nor convincing.

@PP
I don't think so. Here's a refutation of the belief that there was more than one Isaiah.:
i wonder how many witnesses are aware that the wt and their team of lawyers are currently suing the government of norway for millions of dollars?
i thought that the wt taught that all the governments were run by satan.
when i was a witness, this would have really bothered me.
New Light coming in Watchtower article:
"Due to the high cost of lawyers and shortage of elders, the Faithful and Discreet Slave is announcing that we are increasing the number of witnesses needed to establish CSA from 2 witnesses to 3".
uh oh, looks like the mega thread gave up the ghost, so while i investigate / fix it just continue the discussion here .... it's been a long 9 years lloyd evans / john cedars.
Do you think sexting girls whilst married in the twuff is a stabilizing influence?
It's usually a crime if the girl is underage.
from ske graduation this past weekend.
(sent from a pimi).

It’s amazing how quickly a GB member grew one.
Don't be gullible. Isn't it obvious that GB member Jackson wanted to grow a gotee, so suddenly the ban on beards disappeared?
This is the kind of crap that happens when a person follows men instead of God. And btw, this kind of tyranny isn't limited to just cults you know.

interesting take on paganism as well.
Psalms 22:16 doesn't matche any incident in David's life; instead, it is a symbolic description of his anguish over what seems to be unanswered prayers for deliverance The verse does prophetically closely match the experience of one of Davis's descendants, Jesus, during His final hours.
"For dogs have compassed me: The assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: They pierced my hands and my feet."

Since Lloyd elbowed his way to prominence in the ex-JW movement the Watchtower can point to him and say to the JWs: Look what happens to a person when they leave "the truth." Do you want to become like them? Why would you want to believe the lies they promote?
Exactly. Loyds path of self destruction for himself and his family is a dream come true for the Watchtower. Anyone supporting him in any way is supporting the Watchtower's narrative about those who choose freedom of religion that is taken for granted in the western world, but denied to it's members.

I don't believe the evidence supports such a sweeping statement. People make mistakes. Irenaeus' writings were not inspired, infallible or perfect.
From Orthodox Christian Theology:
"There are several problems with Irenaeus’ chronology. First, secular historians are aware that Pontius Pilate served specifically during the reign of Tiberius and perhaps the very beginning of Caligula’s reign—not Claudius. Additionally, this obviously does not align with modern conceptions of the Lord being approximately 33 years old before the resurrection.
Most importantly to those looking at the earliest Christian sources on the question, Irenaeus’ chronology does not match that of his contemporaries. Saint Justin Martyr, writing before Irenaeus, placed the Lord’s death under the reign of Tiberius. (First Apology, Chap 13) Saint Hippolytus, writing a generation after Irenaeus, explicitly held to a chronology of Christ having an approximately 33-year life before the resurrection. Other near-contemporaries such as Tertullian (Apology, Chap 21), the author of the Acts of Pilate (Prologue), and Julius Africanus (Fragment 18) concur. Hence Irenaeus is contradicted on this specific chronological view by a consensus of Christian saints and thinkers in his own time."
But none of this changes the overwhelming evidence that Jesus was crucified on a cross and not a pole. JW's just love being contrarians to bolster their pseudo-intellectualism.

Sea Breeze, kicked out at 14? How did you live? Did you go into foster care?
I wish I could have. Like a lot of kids, I went back after a few weeks staying with someone who wasn't baptized. He did it again though, couch hopped at various friends houses that time. They managed to convince me to marry at age 17 to get rid of me. Her JW family was even worse than mine, if you can believe that. My dad told me more than once that he brought me into this world and he could take me out.
One time a school coach asked me if he should call the authorites after he saw all the stripes on my back from a pretty severe belt whipping. My crime? Walking like a chicken with a JW friend of mine at a convention - disrespecting the Organization. I told the coach it was my fault and to not call anyone. I wished he would have anyway. After the failed prediction in 1975, I simply could not take anything my parents or the elders said seriously because I saw with my own eyes that they were all delusional.
Finally quit school when I got old enough at age 16 and travelled as a salesman. Had a very strong knack for business. Probably could have been a Fortune 500 CEO with the proper education. But, I've done well enough with small businesses.
The mental abuse JW parents put kids through is criminal.
are any or all of the gb from jewish descent?.
why are they so fascinated with following ancient jewish 'principles' ?.
isa 43:10, 44:8 ' you are my witnesses ' which they based their religious identity on, jehovah's witnesses, yet those verses address the jews, not christians, which they profess to be.. jesus said in ac 1:8 'you will be witnesses of me ', .
The message they preach eliminates the possibility of Jesus being the Mediator for a member on Judgment Day, and they teach that virtually no one can have Jesus as their Mediator after 1935. So, they discourage current members from claiming this Christian offer from the Lord.
As a result, the religion is built around willpower to do what is right as opposed to being declared righteous (justified) by grace through faith. Even though Isiah. 64: 6 declares:" all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags", they still believe their good works (passing out literature) will save them.
They teach that Justification is no longer available. So, there really isn't much in the NT that applies with that kind of restriction. ,
Hope that answers your question.
